"He who knows the secrets of sound comes
close to know the secrets of the entire universe."
(Hazrat Inayat Khan)
Most of the cultures on earth have reports on earth sound and
spherical harmonies, Indians know 'Nada', the First Sound, as
the beginning of everything, and talk about 'Nada brahma' meaning
'the world is sound'.
OM (Aom) is the everlasting sound for most of the Asian cultures
- and it is 'the' holy mantra itself - symbolizing the archetypical
frequency of our being.
'Planet tunes' were first described and calculated by the law
of octaves by Hans Cousto (Germany).
This law of the octaves notes the repetition of a certain tone
on doubling or splitting its frequency into halves. Doing this
systematically transponds the frequencies of the whole solar
system into hearable ones. The number of octaves necessary is
the scale, similar to a roadmap.
Hermann Hesse writes in his book 'Glasperlenspiel': The
Law of Oktave is the principle, which is shared equally between
music and mathematics, it is the one formula which is able
to connect astronomic und harmonic formulas, to bring down
astronomy, mathematics and music, even colours to a common
denominator.
The keynotes of our planets are physically calculated on a scientific
basis but still they 'unite all three basic principles: science,
worshipping beauty and meditation.'
These planet tunes or ancestral tones are therefore exponentiated
acoustic frequencies raised to higher power but from our natural
environment. Our confrontation and use of them takes us back
to 'the way of the world' and in harmony with 'Tao' (the way,
the way of the world) as Chinese people would say.
Some planet tones are quite securely assigned to different chakras,
forthe others we still lack enough research results so the assignment
is meanwhile hypothetic.
The followig table shows a short overview on the tones and frequencies
